RecFaces Enhances Id-Gate Biometric Software with GDPR and Advanced Data Synchronization Capabilities
August 2, 2024 — RecFaces, an international vendor of facial biometric software solutions, has announced the release of an update to its Id-Gate facial recognition software product. The new version features full GDPR support and improved data synchronization capabilities across ACS from various vendors via the Id-Gate biometric core.
Adaptation to Local Data Protection Laws
Based on requests from diverse markets for compliance with local policies on personal biometric data handling, the team developed a universal tool to adapt Id-Gate to meet requirements of local legislation in the region of installation. All settings are accessible via user-friendly graphical administrator interface and do not require programming, which is a highly sought-after feature by integrators.
In addition to managing roles and access levels for biometric information, the solution handles the retention period of personal data and photos in the profile database, as well as the storage of operational biometric information from terminals and cameras.
Cross-Vendor Data Synchronization
Aside from new integrations with access control systems, Id-Gate now supports an expanded set of personal information fields for seamless data synchronization across multiple access control systems from different vendors. Given that several ACS vendors employ nested access levels, RecFaces has incorporated support for this feature as well. Moreover, the entire access rights structure between ACS and the Id-Gate software can now be synchronized.
Introducing Smart Reports
Smart Reports have been launched in response to market demand, allowing users to generate and upload an arbitrary set of data from the database manually or on a schedule using SQL queries and a graphical interface. RecFaces solutions have traditionally occupied a niche in customer ecosystems, so the demand for a convenient way to generate reports for other systems was met.
Enhanced Efficiency for Android-Based Terminals
The most significant improvement, however, is the optimization of the Id-Gate App for Android-based terminals. Not only was the set of neural networks in the installation package optimized, but the size of the distribution package was also significantly reduced. This has made it possible to multiply the time required for centralized initial deployment and software updates on terminals within distributed systems, even with low-quality communication channels.
Id-Gate App operation is now supported not only on terminals but also on tablets and smartphones that meet the minimum technical requirements. This support has long been requested by the market and will enable the use of less expensive tablets as biometric data acquisition devices in ACS systems.
Data Exchange and Notification System Improvements
The updates also include enhancements to the data exchange system between terminals and servers, ensuring stable operation even when communication between the terminal and the Id-Gate server is poor or unavailable for periods ranging from several minutes to several days. In addition, the redesigned operator notification system provides a guaranteed delivery of incident notifications to designated personnel.
We strive to provide the solutions with modern and highly sought-after functionality, enabling our customers to address practical business challenges effectively with facial recognition technology.
